SCOTTISH & BRITISH SCHOOLS DRYSLOPE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The SCOTTISH SCHOOLS PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DRYSLOPE CHAMPS:
The SSSA runs both a primary and secondary school dryslope championships. These are separate events with the primary school event taking place in May and alternating between Bearsden and Bellahouston each year. The secondary school event takes place in early October at Hillend and is not only recognised as the Scottish Champs, but also serves as the qualifier for the British Schools Dryslope Champs which is held in November and rotates its venue between Scotland England and Wales.
Both the Scottish Primary and Secondary Dryslope Champs events are 2-run timed slaloms, open to school teams containing anything from 1-4 racers. All competitors receive 2 timed runs, the best of which determines their individual ranking in their gender and age group category.
Schools teams with 3 or more racers will get a team ranking using the sum of the fastest 3 competitors' best times. For the secondary race the top ranked all-male and all-female secondary teams qualify to go on and compete at the British Champs.
The BRITISH SCHOOLS DRYSLOPE CHAMPS:
This event allows those school teams that have qualified at the respective Scottish, English and Welsh Champs to come together for a 2-run timed slalom for the overall crown of British Schools Champions.
Individual racer rankings, in their gender category, are based on the competitors fastest of 2 runs.
Schools teams with 3 or more racers will get a team ranking using the sum of the fastest 3 competitors best times.
