ALPINE SERIES

The jewel in the crown of the SSSA year is the annual Alpine Series held at a selection of Scottish mountain ski areas. 

Events rotate between centres over different years.

These Alpine Races are our highest level of on-snow events and schools are encouraged to enter teams of their fastest alpine skiers. (For our more inclusive events that allow schools to bring pupils of mixed abilities, please see our Snowsports Festivals that run in March.)

Schools are invited to enter teams comprising anything from 1-4 racers - Onlu THE FIRST TWO TEAMS willinitially be accepted up to the closing date (10 days prior to the event) when additional teams may also be accepted.

Each event is a timed 2-run open slalom, giant slalom or combi depending upon available snow conditions and each competitor is ranked in their gender and year category on their fastest time.

School teams are ranked using the sum of the best times of the fastest 3 competitors.

The SSSA Alpine Champs provide a fantastic opportunity for schools to participate in ski racing on snow. Each year these events fill up quickly so please be quick with your school entry to avoid disappointment
